Breckenridge, Colorado
Welcome to Denver, Colorado! The mile high city that is super chill. This is where many travelers fly into before heading out to visit Breckenridge or other ski towns. By now, everyone and their mother knows that recreational marijuana is legal and if that is your thing - you are in the spot. So, before heading out to the slopes, make sure you get your supplies. I would also like to mention Denver has many places to relax and have a craft drink. I recommend Pony Up and try the Sunset & Death cocktail. You can make this at home as well because its that amazing.
In a shaker, add…
1 1/2 ounces Mezcal Unión Uno
1/4 ounces génépy liqueur
3/4 ounces agave syrup*
3/4 ounces lime juice.
Shake and stir into a coupe glass. Rim half the glass with Tajín seasoning powder, and garnish with a dried blood orange wheel.
*Combine equal parts agave nectar and hot water, and then stir. Cool before use.
From Denver to Breckenridge the track will take an hour and a half to two hours depending on traffic. We stayed at an AirBnB for this trip and it was worth every penny. You can also stay on the slopes or on main street. Whatever you decide to do you are in for a treat.
So, you think you are ready to go skiing? Here are a few tips that might make your skiing adventure quicker and more enjoyable.
Order your lift tickets and gear online. (we got 20% off our gear when we went)
Review the ski runs the night before.
Listen and understand the skill levels of others in your group. Pair up and run the slopes with the same skill levels. (Don’t find out about 10:30 girlfriend. *That is when the rescue team has to rescue your significant other down the mountain. “Don’t be that guy.”)
Try the Bloody Mary at the bottom of peak 7. Check out the map to see the trails that can get you over to all the bars.
Downstairs At Eric’s is the jam spot for some good pizza and beer. They even have a great payment system the is easy to split checks for large groups.
Nova Adventure in Vail, Colorado is a must go. Check it out for yourself!! Colorado was an amazing adventure and I can’t wait to get back to the Rockies.
